      Getting Started

      This easy to use tool organizes all of the standards for a given time period and grade together, allowing teachers to see where they can combine relevant content and make strong real-world connections for students.

      Elementary

      This tool is designed with elementary students. It brings together all the things that students need to learn at a certain grade level and during a specific time. This helps teachers figure out how they can mix similar topics and create connections that make sense in the real world for you, the students.

      Secondary

      Created for secondary students, this tool unites the essential concepts across grades and time periods. Educators can utilize it to blend related subjects and establish meaningful real-world associations, enhancing your learning experience.

  • World Languages

      World Languages

      The purpose of the World Language Curriculum Framework is to provide Texas LOTE teachers with a TEKS-aligned pathway to develop student language performance and communication in the target language at a specified proficiency level.

      The framework contains:

      • Year at a Glance (YAG) document
      • Six thematic units for Levels I, II, and III
      • Three example, summative performance assessments per unit
      

      Level I

      Students will develop Novice Mid – Novice High proficiency in the target language. They will understand culturally authentic texts like infographics and short videos; and they’ll converse in pairs and write short posts about familiar topics using memorized words and phrases.

      

      Level III

      Students will develop Intermediate Low – Intermediate Mid proficiency in the target language. They will understand connected statements from culturally authentic texts and videos, converse in pairs, and write short pieces on topics about and beyond everyday life using strings of sentences.

      

      Level II

      Students will develop Novice High – Intermediate Low proficiency in the target language. They will understand culturally authentic, sentence-length texts and videos, converse in pairs, and write short posts about familiar topics using phrases, short statements, and simple sentences.
